Storm "Hans" has reached Sweden and Dalarna. SMHI warns of high water flows in Dalarna and Värmland. The water level in Siljan is very high. Rocks and bottom that are normally visible are below the water level.
Is that a record high water level?
“The Siljan is half a meter above normal level,” says Åke Ryss in Bråmåbo, who continuously reads the water level. “Now the level is 161.99 meters above sea level. 1986 was the record year so far. Back then it was a whopping 163.06.”
The water level will probably remain high for a while longer. It is said that Trængsletdammen is full and needs to be emptied a little.
