“Once is no time, twice is a tradition,” they say. Maybe that rings true for “Harvest Festival on Sollerön?”
Once again there was a folk festival at Båkkan. The festival area stretched from the Parish House, via the Church to the Rectory, Kopen and Klippen. The parking lots filled up quickly and it was bustling with parishioners and visitors.
Those who were hungry could choose between coal buns, spring rolls, pumpkin soup, burritos and vegetarian options. Of course, there were also hot dogs and hamburgers, and the line for the popular Crêperie was always long.
Locally produced products were at the forefront of the many market stalls.
How about honey, marmalade, eggs, loaves, cheese, savoy cabbage, squash, carrots, potatoes or beautiful sunflower bouquets and seedlings? You could taste apple varieties from Äppleträdsallén and various kinds of handicrafts were for sale. Many flea market finds were made at Återbruket Klippen. There were many cultural elements with a costume exhibition, a photo exhibition and live music.
As a finale to the Harvest Festival, a world record was broken in Sollerö Long Dance. A total of 91 people danced inside the Church. It was a day to remember until the time comes again!
