The apple tree hall

Could Äppelträdsallén become the next big tourist attraction for Sollerön?

The whole of Sweden is literally bursting with apples this year. The forecast points to a record harvest. Right now there is high pressure in all the musteries in our elongated country. The queues are long. On TV there are reports about musteries in Västernorrland and in Dala-Demokraten Göran Greider writes a tribute to the apple as a fruit and to the mustery in Gruddbo. It was to Ingrid in Gruddbo that he went and mustered his apples.

Sollerön's Apple Tree Alley is a full 3 kilometers long and has about 300 different types of apple trees. You have probably noticed that the avenue is being renovated in several places along the way. It is the Swedish Transport Administration that is currently focusing extra on avenues and wants them to be cared for and preserved.

How many of us parishioners actually think about the fact that we have such a beautiful and extensive apple tree avenue? Is it that we are becoming a bit homesick?

Is there anything more beautiful to see than when the Apple Tree Alley is in full bloom in early summer? A delight for the eye and peaceful for the soul. An experience on par with the Japanese cherry trees in Kungsträdgården that people make a pilgrimage to see. Or the tulips in Holland.

The ongoing renovation of the avenue and the development of clearer signs, as well as a dose of marketing, could contribute to an increase in visitors to Sollerön. A tourist attraction is "dormant" here.
