Sollerö Fishing Conservation Area Association has had tough times.
First, schoolchildren eager to fish from grades 3, 4, 5 and 6 at Sollerö School came on their outdoor day and tried their luck at fishing in Gåstjärn.
And this past weekend, September 28-29, FVOF invited people to an Open House in Gåstjärn.
There is great interest in fishing. More than 100 large and small fishermen gathered around the pond on Saturday and Sunday. Many of them went home with freshly caught rainbow salmon.
The birch wood crackled in the grill where sausages and hamburgers crowded the space, and inside the log cabin the coffee pot was simmering. It's not often that people drink boiled coffee.
Gåstjärn Fishing Camp is very popular. It has generally been fully booked on weekends during the summer months. Both by companies and private individuals.
