Last year, Sool-Öen was published only in digital edition.
Now that the book is being published for the 52nd time, it is also returning in printed form, much to the delight of loyal readers. The working group in Sollerö Hembygdsförening has once again achieved a brilliant achievement.
The strength of Sool-Öen is the variety of different writers and articles. The mix captivates the reader.
These are scientific articles about, for example, the development of agriculture since ancient times, where manure played an important role, or the graffiti (wood carvings) from the past from pastures and "kallär."
You can also read about 19th-century bear hunts in Solleröskogen and about recipes for dairy products such as sweet cheese and calf dance. Prohibited perch fishing under the Gesunda Bridge and the importance of the hometown and strong family ties are also included, along with much more, on the 120 interesting pages.
Sales start on the raising of the maypole on Midsummer Eve. Buy it!
