Maybe you haven't thought about how much there is and happens in the Parish House?
The parish house serves as a meeting place for all ages.
The library plays an important role for the school in that schoolchildren are diligent in borrowing books.
The Emgart weaving house fills an entire room with looms and creates life and movement in the house. A little bit of sunshine is that the "weaving houses" invite schoolchildren to learn how to weave.
The parish house also houses tenants for offices and apartments.
Many associations hold their board meetings and annual general meetings in the Parish Hall.
The Lärkasalen hall is equipped with a stage and modern sound and lighting system. There is a new catering kitchen nearby. There are many bookings. The municipality usually books for conferences. Orchestras, bands, troubadours and other musical genres take turns. Cultural evenings, storytelling evenings and meetings about the tourism industry are often held. Meditation and yoga as well as liberating dance are arranged.
This is where the heels are kicked up a notch on special occasions such as weddings, New Year's and Twelfth Night balls. This is where many birthday parties are held and this is where school classes usually have their popular school discos.
Sold's Finest and Klippen rent space in the basement. Down in the "deep vaults" is also the parish's interesting village archive with old photos and writings. Open for everyone to explore.
Thanks to the House Group!
We have reason to be proud and grateful for the opportunities that the Parish House offers. But all of this would not work if the Sollerö parish association did not care for and look after the house. And all of this is done on a voluntary basis! It is primarily the Husgruppen that is involved in the Parish House and is responsible for the functioning of the house. Investments are constantly being made that involve improvements. Some examples from recent years are new wooden floors, a new serving kitchen, new stage fabrics, new fluorescent lights, etc. There is also porcelain for both small and large parties. An important task is to keep the house in good shape with repairs and maintenance. Both inside and out.
When I meet the House Group for an interview, I feel their enthusiasm and I understand that they are having a lot of fun together. A positive social community is created.
Perhaps there are several people – maybe you – who would like to join in and share that community? If so, contact Hans Wångersjö on 073 – 09 68 712.
Thanks to the staff at the Service Point!
Mora municipality has a number of service points in the villages around the central town of Mora.
One of them is located in the Parish House on Sollerön and is staffed by volunteers every weekday between 10 am and 12 pm. There are about 10 volunteers who take turns serving visitors.
At the Service Point, visitors can get help with printing and copying documents. They also have access to free Wi-Fi on their computers. The Service Point also provides tourist information with brochures and maps when a French or German person knocks on the door. Tickets are also sold for various local events such as a show with the Gesunda Choir or a concert in the church.
Many people come to the Service Point and book a room for meetings/events.
A small interesting detail is that the Parish Office also has scrapbooks with clippings from events in the parish.
But perhaps the most important function is that the Service Point is open to those who just want to come in and talk. A social function. Welcome in as a visitor too! Or… maybe you want to become a staff member too? It is open between 10 – 12 on weekdays!
