As you may have noticed, construction on the church boat site at Båkkan has started.
Sollerö Timmer has now cast 18 plinths for the post structure.
The church boat Sofia Magdalen will be accompanied in the “house” by an exhibition with pictures and texts describing the history of church boats in the parish. Text and picture suggestions have been presented to the Parish Association.
During the winter, the structural timber is finely sawn and prepared for logging.
Bälter Timmer will then timber the roof structure during winter/spring 2025 and assemble it in place before midsummer. Then Sofia Magdalena will be transported with pomp and show to her new “boathouse.”
It will be a beautiful eye-catcher and another attraction on Sollerön.
